Letter From Our Superintendent:
Dear Kosciusko Whippet Family:
Welcome to the greatest school district in Mississippi! It is because of great families, community support and the hard work of dedicated professionals in our district that it is possible to have such wonderful schools here in our beautiful community. We continue to strive to be an innovative school that prepares our students for the world of tomorrow while keeping time honored traditions of the Whippet way in place.
Our school district offers a great foundation for all students starting out in the amazing Pre-K village and continuing through grades K and 1 at Lower Elementary, grades 2 and 3 in Middle Elementary, grades 4 and 5 in Upper Elementary, grades 6 through 8 in Junior High, and grades 9-12 in High School. The Kosciusko School District offers many opportunities for learning both in and outside the classroom, from the state champion marching band to over 15 athletic teams that compete for championships on an annual basis. Students in Kosciusko have the opportunity to earn technical school college degrees while in high school as well as many hours of dual credit college hours and advanced placement courses.
We believe that relationships matter and strive to make a difference in the lives of all students and staff by building strong positive relationships. Our district has full time counselors at each school to assist students both academically and socially. We have a small school feel where everyone knows everyone else while providing opportunities for all students that prepare them for the world both academically and socially. Students get the opportunity to interact and learn from other students, perform on stage at a very early age, work as a team, and grow individually during their years in Kosciusko.
We look forward to a great future as we partner with families and community to build relationships and provide a quality education to empower students to become productive citizens.
To aid in student success, we understand we must keep the lines of communication open between home and school.
