Assessments & Accountability
Assessments and accountability ensure every student is on track for academic success. By using state and district assessments, we measure progress, guide instruction, and uphold high standards across the district.
State Assessments
We use state assessments to evaluate student performance and ensure accountability. Key assessments include:
- Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP): Measures proficiency in ELA, Math, and Science for grades 3-8 and high school EOCs. ELA/Math Blueprint, Science/History Resources, Online Practice Test

High School Block Schedule and EOC Testing
Kosciusko High School (KHS) operates on a 4x4 block schedule, with students completing courses and EOC exams in both fall and spring semesters. This flexible schedule ensures all state testing requirements are met.
District Assessments
District assessments provide ongoing data to inform instruction and improve outcomes:
- Benchmark Assessments: Measure progress toward grade-level mastery.
- iReady Diagnostics: Adaptive tools for identifying strengths and areas for growth in reading and math.
- MasteryConnect Common Assessments: Tracks progress and aligns instruction with standards.
- Progress Monitoring: Measures the growth of students in intervention programs to refine strategies and support.
