B.S. Elementary Education - Mississippi State University Masters in Educational Leadership - Mississippi College (Finish June 2022)

Mrs. Kaytee Culpepper

My name is Kaytee Culpepper, and I am a 2nd grade teacher at Kosciusko Middle Elementary. The 2021-2022 school year will be the start of my 4th year in education. I graduated from Mississippi State University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2018, and I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. My goal is to finish within the one year timeline, so I will be finished in June 2022.

I am from Meridian, MS where I grew up with a brother and two educator parents. I guess you could say education is in my blood. My parents have both retired from the public school system in administrative roles, and they have moved on to teaching, administering, and coaching in the private school setting. My whole life I have done nothing but want to follow in their footsteps. I have known since a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher. Having two parents as educators, I really wasn't too sure if there was any other option. My parents always made teaching look so fun, enjoyable, and rewarding. I have always had a love for young children, and I enjoy watching them grow throughout the school year.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my husband Greg, our sweet weenie dog Nelly, and our rescue dog Tramp. Since we do not have any children yet, our dogs are our babies. I also enjoy spending time with my family, going camping, being outside, going to MSU ballgames, and traveling.

My goal as a teacher is to inspire children to develop an incredible love for reading, math, and lots of learning. In our classroom, I strive to engage my students by participating in hands-on learning while we challenge ourselves daily to grow our hearts and minds. Teaching is my passion, and I am so incredibly thankful I get the privilege of teaching young children everyday.
